Stoic Art Project
Around the time the pandemic started, I noticed more people dealing with mental health challenges and searching for solutions to get them through.
That’s when I decided to use my knowledge of Facebook advertising for good, and remind people I’ve never met to stay strong through a weekly series of stoic quotes as works of art.
I call it The Stoic Art Project.
But why stoicism?
As Wikipedia says:
“Stoicism is a school of Hellenistic philosophy founded by Zeno of Citium in Athens in the early 3rd century BC. It is a philosophy of personal ethics informed by its system of logic and its views on the natural world.”
In short, stoic philosophy is an ancient attitude towards life that has helped some of history’s greatest thinkers persevere through hardship, and see the natural world for what it is.
With lockdowns and social isolation, we need to be reminded of how we can control our thoughts in order to emerge from this pandemic.
My hope is that my Stoic Art Project will inspire at least one person to keep going.
The Impact:
So far my Stoic Art Project have been advertised to people in over 10 different countries, and saved over 500 times on people’s smartphones. Even if I never heard back from people, at least I know they’re carrying a little stoic reminder with them.
